I think that's outrageous. It's just reading a code, takes 10 seconds.

when you read a code you dont know whats wrong with a car, it just gives you an area to look at, plus the machine we use is 8k

He said that the dealers will just read the code for free, not diagnose anything. I was just talking about reading the code only.

thats how much good scanner costs, its worth it when you have a shop. See some people dont see what goes with owning a shop, its EXPENSIVE.
