yeah just came back from Huntington beach with alex and wes. nice flipin day couldn't ask for better weather i love So.Cal. oh and btw yes the hotter the better. yeah my temp runs cool as well. 3 core radiator, 160 hypertech stat and hypertech cooling fan switch never runs hot. just perfect

but last night at 830 it hit 210 in 20 min of driving!

NOT GOOD. Running too cool will not get your oil hot enough, and when oil isn't hot enough, it's lubricating properties are poor.

Too cool of operating temps= wear on the motor. You wanna be more in the 180* range

Yeah, with my fans, switch, and thermo my car stays within the 180* temp area all day except its getting a little rise since the heat.

Something you have to realize is that LT1's use reverse flow cooling, cooling the heads first (where the temp sensor is located). This allows the water to cool the heads effectively, and still heat up by the time they circulate through the passages around the cylinder walls.

My car reaches an operating temp of ~125*F (on the gauge) w/ stock radiator, stock retuned fans.

mine is staying below the 210 mark .. thats on one fan . i need to hook up my second fan to the stock settings.

My temp never gets above 210. Sometimes wonder if it even works. But I have an slp 160 in there just in case.

got a 160 hypertech stat and it never, ever, reaches 210...always stays around 185-190....but then again i think my fans turn on way too early....when do you guys recommend they should turn on? and do they rob power when they are on?

Maybe 1 hp loss.. at the most...then again what am I thinking...the fans aren't powered by the engine, they are powered by the cars electrical system. So no hp is used by the fans lol

Yeah no loss at all, unless you run the AC and are blasting an after market music system
