Default Exhaust shop

I need a quality exhaust shop guy who knows what he's doing to weld up some tips on my car. I need to have the muffler piping re-done and the tips will be pretty tight to the body. I live in the Palm Springs/29 Palms area, so anywhere within 50-80 miles is cool (Ontario, Bakersfield, etc.).

Most shops I've seen are run by lazy asses who just slap on a catback in about 5 minutes with about 3 exhaust leaks and 2 rattle points, with crooked and uneven exhaust tips.

So I pose these questions:

1) Is there an exhaust shop with employees that have pride in their work, and can actually do an excellent job (everything lined up PERFECTLY)?

2) If yes to #1, what's their contact info?

Yeah, when I put my TSP Rumbler I went to a very well known top notch quality muffler shop and asked how much. They said 250 with tips. Damn thats alot, so I went to non-specialist and it was done with 80 bucks. When you go to a shitty place you have to tell them no not like that, if its crooked or if the tips look lame help their dumb asses out and it should be alright.

i would cut off your old tips, go to a shop, physically show them exactly where you want the tips to be, and let them do the rest.

That's the thing. I don't like being a dick and telling people they're being incompetent dumbasses and and to fix their mistakes (even in a nice way). Plus some places don't take that kind of **** from customers and just tell them to go take a hike. Last time I had an exhaust shop fix their own mistake, it didn't really get fixed anyways and the guy tried to convince me that it was "ok" using his flawed logic.

Place around the corner from my house rewelded my exhaust (hanger bracket broke) and straightened out the alignment in the rear for around $25.

The guy had no problem with me stating how I wanted it aligned in the rear.

I am sure you can find one in your neck of the woods, just let them know what you want before the work is performed.

But, here's the info if you need it:
Rico's Muffler and Brake
4190 Riverview Dr, Riverside, CA‎
(951) 682-6812‎

Again, this isn't to fab up exhaust work, only to weld what you currently have. I can't speak about their abilities in any other regards.

Don't have contact info but can get it, rett's automotive performance exhaust, the guy builds drag cars, custom fabs up exhaust 4 links all suspension stuff and roll cages, for my old grand am I had a custom side mount exhaust and he fabbed up a plate and the hangers for it plus he welded the exhaust together for $150. Not bad considering the work done. A Plus work, I will go back to him once I need to get the flowmaster y collector on my soon to be ory.

How about muffler plaza in old town Orange? The prices are always reasonable and the guys are always cool and like the others posted, just sit there and tell them what you are looking to have done. I did this there, as a matter of fact, they asked me how I wanted things done.

you're in yucca? did you try Charlie's Muffler right next to del taco? he's always done a good job with mine, and never hesitated to work on my cat-less exhaust. now on the other hand, DO NOT GO TO AAA MUFFLER down the street. they're a bunch of dumbasses.

i actually am going to go back to Charlies sometime when i get some more money to have him un-**** what the place in oklahoma did.

I got the tips welded on at Charlie's today. I know they're good guys, but the two guys working on it couldn't agree on the proper angles or issues (they got into a huge argument) with how it looks so I just had them weld it on as-is and they didn't want to charge me. I gave 'em $20 anyways since the tips are now on the vehicle. So I'll have to take it to a place that will think a little harder about how to line them up properly and make them look good. It definitely needs work, but it is good for now. I also had my last cat installed by Charlies, and that caused an exhaust knock that I had to have a shop in Santa Ana fix. Also wanted to charge me $50 to weld in a new pipe from the cat to the muffler (over the axle) that I supplied. Sure it's not bad, but I'm at the point where I'd rather get it done by another place.

I got that feeling about AAA Muffler when I watched them working on various cars while waiting for a friend.

Why don't you have Mark's exhaust guy do the work maybe a Friday before you come down for Bob's? Looks like he does pretty good work.

BTW, know of a place that will replace my GTP's resonator for CHEAP? Just a cut/replace job. There's something rattling around in there...

Cut it out and replace with straight pipe, issue solved.
