The car scene is starting to become mostly LS1/03-04 Cobras. We have regular meets and events at the drag strip. Quite a few different setups down here, some turbo cars, some procharged cars and a handful of stroker/nitrous setups.

Thats the best news Ive heard all day!! I have googled the surrounding area of White Sands and nothing has come up! I just put on a procharger so I will be looking foward to my next run in with a terminator! Quick questions though---does the sand mess up your paint...ie sand storms?? Is NM strict on emission laws? The procharger guys having any issues with over heating because of the one fan set up? Thanx for the help!

well, white sands is VERY long. depends on where exactly you are talking about. it goes from the ft bliss/el paso area in the south and streaches 100 miles north of there, with alamogordo in the middle. my father in law lives in alamo....

i would guess it would be to the south near fort bliss or central near alamo since there is an air force base there. i will ask my father in law if i think of it since he works security there. what is your MOS. former 13B here

oh, and sorry to the OP for the hijack. i actually ask about the scene down there myself awhile back since i considered moving there and wanted to know how much business i could get if i had a dyno tuning shop in alamogordo.....

The sand will start to etch your paint if the wind kicks up, so I would suggest you garage it. As for heating problems, the Procharged LS1's out here arn't daily driven, so I couldn't really tell ya. As for emissions, I live in Rio Rancho which is right outside of Albuquerque and we don't have any emissions, Albuquerque does have emissions but you don't have to worry about that, each city will be different but I doubt you would have to worry about any emission laws.

i doubt i'll be out to albuquerque anytime soon...i might make a few trips over there...pretty much have to drive 2 hrs any direction to do anything anyway...once i get my nitrous all put together i'll be wanting to go to the track and test her...so sooner or later i'll be over there
