Cam Install
Zup Fellas! I been doing some research on cam installs. I want to install a nice cam like a MS3 and I know I would have to get it tune by a tuner. SO for those guys that have done it themselves, how hard or easy is it to install a cam? Thanx

Not hard, just takes time if you are swapping it with the engine in the car.
I recently installed a MS3, PRC dual valve springs, ported oil pump, and LS2 timing chain into a friends Camaro. Took about 10 hours for me to complete the install if I remember correctly. There is a recent thread posted, he just put down 422/380 at CMS.

Its really easy, just take your time and look everything over twice to make sure its on/bolt down right. Ls1howto.com can help you with all the steps. No need to go and pay someone when you can do it your self imo.

I will say from what happened with me, to plan for longer just in case somethings go wrong, then again I took my heads off too. Took me 3 days to do heads and cam with a harmonic balancer breaking, and some other hiccups. For my first time i don't think it was too bad, I know it can be done quicker though. for cam only I say make sure you have a good solid day and a half or 2 days to make sure you get everything done and done right.

im sure there are people out there that would offer to do it or help you with it for personal experience but remember if something goes wrong it would prob cost you more money to fix the mistake than it would if you took it to a shop. Now if something would go wrong and it was a shop who did the work they would have to fix it.
