Default Smog test question

Hey everyone, so I have been out of the loop for a long time, been lurking but thats about it.
The day finally came today when I registered the Hawk in CA. So my question is once you fail smog (which I will) how long do you get to correct and retest?
I have a feeling I am going to end up non-op reg if they dont give too much time.

TIA,
Craig
