there was this peice with two plastic hoses . runs from the front of the intake right in back of the throttle body. along the side the fuel rail. and i think it has a nozzle that says evap system and then runs to this black thing. i dont know what it is. but if i had a guess its a fuel pressure regulator? the plastic hoes runs to that. and the other plastic hoes runs to this little wierd looking metal peice. when i pull the hose off it smells like gas. and one end drips gas out. and the other dosnt. at first those plastic hoses were broken. and he bought the peice again from the dealer. he said that was the problem, but we put them back on and car still dosnt start.
to get kinda of a mental picture of what the plastic hoes peice looks like. its kinda like a long un even y shape. the tip of the y were both ends run into is the part on the intake. then they split and go to the places i mentioned above.
i know its kinda hard to know what im talkin about with no pictures lol. so any and all help is greatly appreciated. ill try to get pics up soon.
Second, get a fpg and actually test it for fuel pressure, no use speculating.
Third, test it for spark.
Start with the basics, fuel, air, spark...
the way it works is fuel vapor goes from the fuel tank to the canister through one line... then from the canister to the solenoid through a second line... then solenoid to the intake through a third line.
if the connection from the solenoid to the intake is not connected, there will be a substantial vacuum leak...must be connected or capped if you want to eliminate the evap system...
im not sure about what your talking about as far as the piece that runs to the throttle body...a pic would help. need to check if that is manifold vacuum or ported vacuum...if its manifold it must be connected to its proper source or capped.. if its ported it may just be the fresh air source for the PCV system.
however, there should not really be any visual liquid gas coming out of charcoal canister or lines to the intake..raw fuel smell is normal though...sometimes the canister can get filled if you overfill your gastank regularly...unbolt it and see how heavy it feels...may need to be replaced as they are difficult to drain...
just start working from the intake manifold and throttle body...make sure there are no open ports on the intake manifold... on the fuel rail there will usually be a test port w/ a schrader valve...if its not on the rail, trace the line through the bay..there may be one along the way...prime the fuel system and depress the valve on the test port....normally a small amount of fuel will vent out...this will show pressure in the line...its your best bet if you dont have a guage to at least know if you have fuel at the rail or not...make sure the fuel pump is working as well... it has a 3 second runtime when you put the ky in ACC. more than likely you will hear the pump through the cabin when you turn it on...if not have someone listen from the bottom of the back of the car or quarter panel...
get the engine running first, then fix the evap system...
hope that will help you some... also post a pic of the lines so i can get a bettr idea of what your talking about
