installed poly trans mount!!!
installed poly trans mount!!! First off, install is easy as pie. I managed it with a jack, two jack stands, a set of sockets (19mm and 18mm) and a set of bow end wrenches (13mm). took me less than an hour.
I bought an entire trans/motor mount kit because i had a custom y-pipe installed, but when i hit the gas the pipes hit the bottom of the floor. well the trans mount fixed it, so therefore im going to sell my motor mounts (too much work to install and i like the way the car feels now).
on another note, i hadnt really hit the gas hard since i got the y-pipe, so i took it for a test drive, and OMG, i almost fishtailed into a curb. The car now downshifts much harder, and with the added power, it took off much harder than it ever has. Those old cats and y-pipe must have been robbing me of some serious power.

i got it off summitracing. it was like $85 or something for the trans and motor.
does it really add 20hp to the wheels or are you just playing? i wouldnt have said 20hp feel, but then again, its been a while since i went WOT and i have new pipe and cats since then.

get the mounts from WS6 store i think its like $65 for the combo. i havent had a problem but if you only have a poly trans mount and not the motor mounts there will be increased stress on the tail shaft of the tranny and possibly crack since the motor and tranny are one combo and the engine is moving while the tranny is still.

im thinking if i should do motor mounts before getting longtubes i do have a poly tranny mount already....i have been on the edge since i don't want any extra vibration...and my car has 50k on stock mounts.
I'm with these guys...do the poly motor mounts as you do the header install, it's sssooo much easier. Raptor and i did them at the same time. The mounts are a pain, but the car feels so much more solid with poly motor and tranny mounts.

also got a energy tranny mount, just bought the prothane motor mounts..headers and ypipe are off.... guess time to move belts, ac,starter,and the alternator. sounds like a bitch!
