Well today I installed a new tranny mount and new sway bar links (one was missing.). Well I hoped on the freeway to check it out and when I floored it 1st gear and second gear top end I heard some nasty pinging noise. What could this be? I know it has nothing to do with the new links and mount, but now that it's a little more stable and quiet I heard this noise. Thanks ahead for your help. Oh and I would also hear it in 6 gear after tapping the gas pedal to speed up some, about 1/4 throttle.

Pinging or metallic click/thumping? Could be blown motor mounts.

It's like pingin. I check my motor mounts as I was down there but didn't see any major damage. And it's weird beause it pings only at top end or when there is load like cruising in 6 and then just partially floring it.
