LT1 block Does anyone know where I could go to pick up an lt1 block? Im thinking about slowly building one up. Just buying parts here and there and then when its done swapping it into my car. If anyone knows a good place to get one let me know thanks.
I'd hit up Ecology Autoparts. They usuallly have a few LT1 cars in there (Camaro, Trans Am, Roadmaster, Fleetwood, Impala) and you can get the whole engine for something like 200 bucks. Then you can dismantle it yourself and have the bottom end rebuild (forged parts or stock), the heads machined and/or polished, order a cam kit of your choice, etc.
The cam dowel or spline differance in the cam has nothing to do with the block... the obd2 or 1 either the differance in that would be a gear on the crank and differant timing cover. the only main difference in the blocks would be its either 2 or 4 bolt mains. If im wrong correct me.
