Hawaii guys! The gf and I are considering moving from Alaska down to Hawaii when she finishes up college in a couple years, maybe a little more. We've been to Maui before but are looking at Oahu. Is there anything I should know when looking at real estate ie shitty neighborhoods, where jobs are, etc.
Shes an accountant and I am a network/system admin, and I know theres a serious unemployment issue going on but hopefully our jobs are still in demand but we will be getting jobs before we leave here.
Also is there a drag strip or anything down there?

i know this is an old post but there is no track here at all... as for jobs i have no clue im military... if i were you i would try to get a job through one of the military posts... neighborhoods... depends on your financial situation... but other than that.... look to spend id say around 300k for a "decent" home... not a wide selection of performance shops and and since your in alaska im sure you already feel a little of the pain for shipping parts etc...
