T-56 help

I'm needing help with info on a t-56 rebuild. Are there any good transmission shops in the inland empire that you guys recommend for a descent price? Is 1500 plus exchange a good price for a tranny? Whats a good rebuild kit to get? Any good advice would be helpful...
