Talking A little smog help needed.

I'm thinking about a 5.3L/6L80 swap into my '81 Landcruiser wagon which is currently running a 350 TBI that is tired and worn out.
I'm in NorCal so smog is an issue.
My question is, What is the difference between a CA. engine and a out of state engine? Is it just the cats? I can't seem to find a very good price on an engine/trans package around here, but find good prices from time to time on Ebay.
CA. says that "the engine must have all the CA. emissions from the donor vehicle." Can I buy an out of state engine and trans and convert it to CA. smog equipment?
Just need to know what would be involved to get it past the ref.

Thanks, I know the answers are here. That's why I registered.

No difference from the factory. You'll just need to make sure you use 50 state legal cats., not the less expensive 49 state legal cats..

I've seen posts talking about electric smog pumps feeding air to the cats but don't know what years and states used these.

Do you know what equipment should be on a CA. Gen IV 5.3L?

Anybody have a '09-'13 Silverado that could post up a picture of the emissions sticker on the air box?

I want to get all the equipment that I can from the donor. I'll have to buy cats anyway since nobody sells them used.

Thanks for the quick reply.
