Default bad luck with 4l60e

Hey everyone,
I've had terrible luck with my 4l60e trans within the last 2 years and I'm going on my 4th rebuild. I drive the car hard once while but 75-80% of the time I'm crusing. Any suggestions why my transmisson would be going out so fast? It's always been the 3rd and 4th clutch

I've had the same thing happen on my 4l60e's. Went through three in two years, mine were built too.

What type of converter?

Get a new trans builder, or someone is not installing and spacing the converter properly..

Or if the car has a tune on it then the tuner can't tune an auto tranny and is burning it up!

It's one or the other

The first two rebuilds were at one shop. The third rebuild was at another. It might be the tune

What are your trans temps? What I always see is people don't tune the trans correctly and the tcc slips while cruising burning up the tc clutch and burning up the trans. You need a temp gauge and a cooler too. What did the fluid look like? Any sludge like material or metal in the pan. Details are needed if you want advice.

The fluid is clean, no sludge or metal. It's shifts really hard into first and second. (Before the tune)

You getting a stock rebuild? Maybe getting a high performance built transmission will help

It was a bad torque converter. The shop rebuilt the Trans again too. If it goes out again I'll go with a stage 2 trans
