I just bought a Jeep that has the LS1 motor from a Trans Am, as to my other one had a stock 4.0 motor. It was used for off road only from another state, Id like to get it smog here in Cali. I noticed it doesn't have a catalytic converter so that will be the first thing I know I need to do. Anything else I need to check on, I heard the LS1 doesn't require a smog pump.
thanks

You need all emissions equipment from the donor vehicle. Depending on what year 98-99 or 00-02 the trans am was will determine what you need. Crappy part is, you'll probably end up with a referee so they will really drill down on your parts to make sure everything is Cali smog/carb compliant. Best of luck...

Check what year computer you have first. Some didn't run air injection or egr. Then go to a smog Ref and tell him your situation. He'll let you know what you need on it to get your sticker.

98 will need Egr, air injection, cats,PVC. Might be missing something. Make sure you at least have those then make an apointment to your local B.A.R.
And if you are missing something or need to add something they'll tell you. Some guys can be picky so be patient lol.
