Smog

Hi All!

Long time.

Got a renewal notice in the mail and I need to take her in for a smog check. They want me to go to a star station, which my usual guy is not.

Any tips appreciated!

I wouldn't sweat it. I starred in my 98 last March. Star stations are always test-only stations and are supposed to be the top 2% of all testing stations in the state for accuracy and thoroughness of testing. Our cars will always draw extra scrutiny from state regulators.

if you're 2000+ and ok for the visual, you shouldn't have a problem.

The newer tests are only visual and ODBII, not tail sniffing.

So, as long as you don't have any codes/Check engine lights on, and you are ok visuallu (no LTs), you should be ok.
