Smog and Reg Issues OC
Smog and Reg Issues OC So a problem I normally don't run into. I bought a 2002 Avalanche about a year and a half ago. I was unable to go check the truck out so I sent my dad. He said it ran fine and was in good condition so I bought it. Upon getting it home I realized it didn't have a CARB legal air intake & filter. Does anyone local have one for a 5.3 Silverado that I can use for a day or 2, or know a smog guy who is really busy and won't notice it? Other than that all of the emissions stuff is in tact and the vehicle is completely stock drive train wise. I would greatly appreciate this. The only other person I know is the one who does my race cars and he charges about 400 which seems insane over an airfilter that doesn't even effect emissions.
In addition to that time to rant. Why is my 15 year old truck $300 in registration fees. That seems a bit excessive for a light truck of its age.

I bought the truck used and it didn't come with it. When I look online everyone wants at least 150 bucks for it used. I know the truck still passes smog even with the air filter its just a visual thing. Sometimes certain smog people may look past that I just don't know one right now.
