Man everyone bitches about how 4l60's suck and they aren't worth building. So my Camaro will be getting a 4l80. However, my Avalanche is stock (K&N filter and 33.5" tires is all) so there is no real need to modify the transmission. Last year at about 104k miles my trans went out. I thought that was a little early I was expecting it to be more around 150k when it went out, but whatever I wasn't surprised. I took it to GM paid like 3200 i believe and they put a new trans in for me 11 months and 16k miles later BOOM trans goes out again. My truck is currently sitting at the dealer waiting for them to get shipped another trans. At first they wanted their tech to rebuild it at the dealership, but I told them I didn't want to wait that long as well as I wanted a fresh trans with a fresh warranty, as obviously it saved my *** in this case. I assume this is super rare, but has anyone else had any issues like this?
