What part of Arizona are you heading to? If you're going to Tucson, the only track there is Southwestern International Raceway. Unfortunately, the track is at around 4000 ft, so it's not too low, and race prep usually isn't that great. www.sirace.com

If you're gonna be in Phoenix, there's Firebird Internatonal Raceway (www.firebirdraceway.com) and Speedworld (www.speedworldmotorplex.com). I've never been to either of those tracks, but I know they're sufficiently lower in elevation than Tucson.

Well compared to the tracks in el paso or deming 4000 ft at Tucson is about the same. Track prep is pretty good in deming, el paso not so good.

Do you ever go to Thunder Alley? I don't think I've seen your car in town? I go to NMSU, drive a black Formula with ws6 hood and black TT2's. Flag me down if you ever see me, always looking for cool car friends. ADAM

Firebird is supposedly about 3 tenths faster. From what I've seen, there is more rice at Speedworld, some are pretty quick though.

From my experience, firebird has slow ricers, and speedworld has faster ricers.

I run at Arroyo seco. Thunder and desert demonz aren't really prepped very well, so it mostly a waste of time. I have not raced at Thunder since January. Track was way to bumpy, but I guess they have fixed that recently. I have seen a black formula in town that was pretty loud. I don't drive the car much, maybe a couple times a month.

I haven't had very good luck at Arroyo, but recently thunder alley has been real good. They are really working to get things together down there. I just ran my best time their over the weekend. Yeah that probably was me, anyway hope to see you around sometime. ADAM

Check out their website..... www.firebirdraceway.com

Friday nites are open to all, and some Saturday nites too. Just look at the schedule.

Firebird has a lot more rice than Speedworld from what I've seen in the past. The imports even have their own night to run at Firebird during the week.

Not true.....all of us (especially on www.azfba.com) agree that Firebird is slower than Speedworld for three reasons.

It's usually a shade cooler at Speedworld, the elevation is a tad lower, and most importantly, the prep at Firebird is usually a joke. We call it Fireslick, Sliderbird, etc....
