Default budget 4L60E....
where is the best trans shop in southern california I need a stronger 4L60E on a budget ($2000)

My buddy just had his 4l60e rebuilt at Westminster Transmission (IIRC). He spent 2k on a corvette converter and some other goodies. A lot of hot rodders in OC apparently go there.

We have a trans for sale. Fully built from SMI in Sacramento, spenst around 3k, only has 100 miles on it right now. Would like to get 1500 for it.

Try the Toy Shop in Pomona CA.. Ask for Mike..

They know GM trans stuff inside and out and they build a lot of transmissions for the hot rodders. Good honest people with fair prices

Its where my cars go..

Chino Hills Transmission did my trans rebuild and rear end work. Call Rick or Greg (909) 591-0449. Tell them you read my post on here, they are great guys and honest. You can meet Rick (the owner) at Irwindale Speedway on Thursday. He's always there in his car.

i just got the same trans new, with a harden input shaft and drum, billet servos and the torque package for $1800 no core, no shipping charges..

but thanks for the post, I have a friend thats looking i have him call ya.

I got the transmission installed. The transmission had a broken front pump and had to remove my cars front transmission pump since it was good and install it on the transmission I bought from sean and rick. The shop charged me nothing for the extra work. Now I can chirp the wheels in 2nd gear and the shift to second at almost any speed is neck breaking, some times disturbing. And now I got wheel hop, lots of wheel hop when I decide to smoke the tires, I bought a polyurethne trans mount and polyurethen bushing for my stock torque arm, hopefully this will get rid of the wheel hop.
