CA emissions w/ no cat?

CA emmissions w/ no cat Ok so earlier today I unbolted one end of my cat and cut 1/2 way thru the other end when my friend told me that there is like a 10k fine for driving with no cats or something like that. Is this true?? If it is i'll proboly just go with a high flow cat or maybe even gutting out my current cat.

In Cali its probably 1 million.
Technically removing the cat is a federal offence. but its only so on street cars. Track cars (non-registered with DMV) don't fall into the perview of that law.
Your not gonna pass any cali inspections without the cat. also the replacement must have a CARB number on it.

Yeah well i know i wont pass any emmissions testing but that is OK because i got smogged last week 
as far as federal offenses go.. i dont think having my car sound loud as **** is worth... one hundred billion dollars ::dr. evil pinky::
i think ill just go with a racing cat and a cutout
although i wont be smog legal i still will have a cat on so i wont have the FBI on me lol
