Our 'new' truck!
Our 'new' truck! We just got a 'new' 2002 Silverado 1500HD to replace our 1999 Sierra. This truck should do a much better job of towing, not that the Sierra was not doing good, but this truck gives us room to 'grow'. 
Not a bad truck if I do say so myself. I could have done without the 4x4, but after driving it for a while I can think of a few places I would like to go that this truck can take us. 
Might have to get a boat or jet skis now!

Our 1999 Sierra with the 5.3L did just fine with our Z28, and sometime the SS. You shouldn't have a problem with your truck Ross. We are actually looking at upgrading to an enclosed trailer, hence why we upgraded. I think the 5.3L 1500 would do fine, but I don't want to push the issue. This 1500HD (actually a 2500) should do fine since it is a 3/4 ton truck.
6L 4L80E is GOD. yes this is indeed factual too..no comparison..the rear is better too especially if youre rockin a 60 series....btw 5.3s tow half *** decent in 3rd gear (not OD) that 60E wont handle towing in OD, and dont forget the fuel filter every 10k miles.......fwiw our 6L towed better and got the same gas mileage as a 5.3 loaded.....
