Our PCH Cruise
Our PCH Cruise Over the weekend Jen and I took a trip up the PCH to get away for a while. As you can see, our trip was mostly foggy, which didn't allow for great beach pictures ... Let alone going in the water. We stopped off at Hearst Castle (more like Hearst Mansion or Mission, nothing like a castle per say). It is situated a top a hill about 3 miles from PCH, very much worth going if you've never been. We stopped along the coast to admire some light houses and rock formations, as well as "the largest waterfall the goes directly into the ocean" at Julia Pfeiffer Burns park. The picture doesn't do it justice, it is much more beautiful in person and I highly recommend stopping there if you take a similar trip. We finally ended our trip in Monterey and stayed at a nice hotel and had dinner at a nice restaurant on the Monterey Pier. We strolled down Cannery Row the next day to check out the shops. Our final stop was 17-Mile Drive in Pebble Beach (cost $8.50 to enter) and it is a magnificent road. Only cars and buses are allowed, no motorcycles or trucks (semis) allowed. We stopped off at the beaches, which were very clean and wonderful compared to our so-cal beaches. We snapped a picture from where Blair witch was taped ... No not really, but it looks like it. Those are the oldest Cypress trees in California, creepy looking huh? And then we headed home via Ojai during the evening. Hope you enjoy these pictures. Roughly it was a 700 mile round trip in the SS.
