CA emissions with mods and such? Anything to stay away from if you live in CA?

Just got my LS1 RX7 through the ref. It was all stock though besides an aftermarket K&N kit when i took it in though.

aram, how did you start the procedure? Do you just look up a referee station on the web? How strict were they? I'm thinking of taking my conversion when Im done.

There's a referee scheduling 1-800 # you call and get an appt. The best way to get it done is to get it so you think it's good to go, head down to the ref and pay the 30 bucks.. you probably won't pass the first time but just go assuming that and fix whatever the dude says to fix and bring it back and you should be gold. You get a free re-test for the $30 anyway. If it's an OBD2 car you need the ALDL to function and to have all the readiness codes cleared in the pcm. I went to the guy in Chula Vista after visiting the ref in Salinas and in all honesty the guy in Salinas was a douche who didn't know anything and failed me on complete bullshit that WAS correct (couldn't figure out that my PCM and aftermarket carb approved LS1 intake were both perfectly fine so he actually failed me because of that) where as the guy in Chula Vista was a really cool guy and wasn't out there to make me fail. He saw it was clean and correct and passed the rollers with flying colors so he gave me the sticker.
