Default need car stereo (mp3 specifically) recommendation

so my jensen mp5010k that was about 3.5 years old stopped reading mp3 disks earlier this week, and i ordered a new one for $109 bux from a company that had 1 in stock, well they can't find it so im gonna have to either spend $160-$200 for it somewhere else, or go for a newer model
(this model was made in 2001)

it would normally be a no brainer to go for a newer model but i cant find one that will work with my cd changer...and yeah ive looked at the newer jensen's and bought one once to try to use it with the changer and hte plug didnt fit

so now im wondering if i should just buy a newer model and scrap the changer, or find another mp5010k or buy a newer model w/ a changer as well..

anyone know of any decent mp3 players?

I'll sell you my rockford fosgate 9000 for $100 if you want. It plays MP3 CDs.

Look at the Alpine models. They control iPODs directly from the head unit, no need for a changer.

I'd get something newer, and scrap the changer...You can burn all your Hardcastle and McCormick soundtracks onto the MP3 player now...

My personal recommendation would be the factory Monsoon...

i ended up going to best buy and found a JVC with a built in usb drive for $179, and $25 bux for a 1 gig drive.. i then took all my CD's that were in the changer, and ripped them as mp3's and set them up as sets of tracks (1 01 being disk 1 t 1, 2 01 being disk 2 track 01, etc) and copied them to the jump drive... now all my cds that werei n hte changer are now on a usb thump drive :woot:

oh and fwiw josh, i have had mp3 for the last 3 years.... the jensen was mp3

i just used it in conjunction with the changer..

oh and my car does not have monsoon. that started in 1996 or 97, mine has the 10 speaker bose
