Default Ticket

I recently got a ticket for Illegal Tint on my Camaro from a CHP Officer. I also did not have my license on me and also wrote me up for that. Question is, where he wrote " ILLEGAL TINT REMOVE ASAP " he checked off the box that said it wasnt fixable, or whatever it is it says. Then below, when he wrote me up for not having a license, he DID write that it was fixable. I thought Illegal tint was a "fix-it" ticket? What am I supposed to do? This happened about 2 weeks ago and no sort of letter or fine has come in. Do I have to take my car in? Or take pictures and show up to court with my license and pictures and hope it gets dismissed?

Thanks

I think you remove the tint and then you have a PIG(officer) write it off.

I got one of those a few years ago and it was a fix it ticket. Just pay the fine and leave it on. Thats what i did, just send money order to the address of the court house clerk on back of ticket and thats it and you get to keep your tint. However im not sure if you can just pay the fine if you get caught with it on again.

How much was your fine? To tell you the truth, it's not THAT dark. I was contemplating going darker

I think it was like $35 or close to it. He probably pulled you over just because you caught his attention.(music, exhaust or even a look can get you noticed sometimes) The CHP is basically just VC enforcement and not PC so they budget most of there time just giving citations for veichle violations. Good luck

For some reason the CHP's like to camp out somewhere in the cut and wait for people to violate rules of the road. The reason i say that you did something that caught his attention is that he was probably not verry buisy and needed somthing to justify his time spent. Sucks man, just pay the fine and leave it on. Also a couple times i got pulled over just because my car looked nice and it caught there attention and they just wanted to check it out.

I'm pretty sure that now with a tint ticket you have to remove the tint then take it to have it signed off at your local station. Before you could just pay the fine but i dont think its like that anymore.

I had the same ticket and it was $115 fine. I was recently pulled over for loud exhaust and that ticket will be $118. I am really starting to hate those CHP *******.

I got a tint ticket and when I asked another CHP he said just pay the fine and leave it. That's a lot cheaper than removing it and putting it back on.

I think from what you are saying is you took the tint off and when you take it to get it signed off they charge you a fee for them signing it off. Then you have to include a money order or check for $5.00with ticket signed off to clerk and recorder. I could be wrong but thats what im getting from your story. What everyone else is saying is just pay the fine and dont worry about getting it signed off and you dont have to take tint off at all. Thats why i recomened just pay the fine and keep the tint on. Even if it is $115 thats nothing compared to taking it off, getting ticket signed, and putting tint back on. Just my .02

The fine is $13x.00. I got a ticket in my suv, I just removed it. Had it signed off, it's $10 and I had to pay twice
