Default Phoenix Area Tuner?

Just bought a CTS-V (ls6) w/AFR 205's, cam, headers, full exhaust, etc. that I'll be driving back home (Gilbert) from Ohio in about a week and a half. The tuner in Ohio (Dynotech Engineering) recommended I get a tune here locally because of the different atmospheric conditions and because we have sucky 91 octane gas vs. 93 there. Latest dyno #'s were 437 rwhp and 396 rwtq FWIW.

I'm considering adding a FAST 90 intake and TB at the same time, but it seems like a lot of money for what might be marginal gains. At any rate, I need a recommended shop for a good tune for a daily driver with the occasional romp into mayhem. Any recommendations?

NicD. You can get ahold of him through Arizona Power and Sound or you can try to contact him personally.

Or Bert and Ernies Performance in mesa...Greg works there...

The Fast 90/90 will be good though...Should retain similar numbers despite the 91 octane...It's worth it, let those heads breathe!!!

IMO most of the time gas is gas, it all comes from the same place, its the actual stations that put their additives in it.

as for a tune, cant go wrong with NicD (username), he uses multiple dyno's around the valley, but is a private tuner, he's not affiliated with any of the shops.

i've met him a couple times, and just about every LSx owner in the valley goes to him for a tune.

as for intake, depends on what other mods you have, what size cam is in the car?

Geez you guys (and gal) are quick! Thanks for the replies.

Regarding the cam spec, I don't know but hope to know tomorrow when I call DTE. The only thing I know about the cam setup (which admittedly isn't much) is with 1.8 rockers it's over .6 in lift. Not very helpful, eh? Here's some of the work done to it:

- DTE spec'd AFR fully CNC ported and machined cylinder heads w/ stainless steel 2.020"/1.600" intake-exhaust valves, HD dual valve springs, 7* locks, titanium valve spring retainers and hardened valve spring locaters/shims
- DTE custom ground hydraulic roller camshaft specifically engineered for this vehicle platform
- Double roller 3-peice timing set
- DTE ported engine oil pump w/ PRV modification upgrade
- U/D pulley w/ matching A/C and main serpantine belts
- GM harmonic balancer crank bolt
- GM head bolt set
- GM head gasket set
- HD hardened pushrod set
- DTE 160* engine coolant thermostat
- NGK V-groove sparkplug set
- Open-element cold air kit
- Stainless Works stainless steel long-tube header set
- DTE stainless steel lead pipes w/ high-flow, metal-matrix catalytic converters
- Corsa performance exhaust system
- Port matched intake manifold
- Ported throttle body
- DTE stainless steel AFR sensor bung/plug kit

The tune on it is mild, so there's a touch more performance to be had but for a daily driver and occasional street beast it's ok.

A friend of mine recommended a place off of Chandler Blvd. and Priest called ADS (Automotive Diagnostic Specialties). Anyone heard of them and have anything good or bad to say?

sounds like the diagnostics place is just that, a diagnostics place... doesnt sound like much advanced dyno tuning goes on there. just problem fixing.

But of course.

I didn't take these since I don't actually have the car in my possession yet, but here's a couple from the seller.

There's a little too much space between wheelwell and tire for my taste, so I either need to lower the car or get bigger rims.
