Quick ??s before possible purchase... I'm looking a beater/daily driver, but I know that I'm going to start modding.
2 years since selling my Z, and I just simply miss the F-body... I'm looking at getting a 93 Z28.

158K on the body. New motor at 100K
I'm going to be checking it out tomorrow. Do you guys happen to know the weak/fail spots on the LT1s? What am I checkin on this thing...
Ticking, whining rear... is there a way to check for an optispark that's ready to take a dump.
Any info greatly appreciated.

i had a 93 for about a year. when you test drive it turn everything on, AC, Radio, Head lights.... Then when you get the chance to open it up, and see if you notice any stuttering, car dying anything other than normal.
My car would die when i stepped on the gas b/c optispark was taking a crap. I checked the battery, alternator, fuel filter, fuel pump, and finally took it to a mechanic and it was the OPTISPARK.
93 is a cool year cause you have no MAF.
