CA Smog

CA Smog Okay, here's the deal. Got the TA going, and of course it won't pass smog, not even gonna try. No AIR, no EGR, turbo, 6.0L. Have had the car non-opped the past 2 years, and now it's time to renew, but I need a smog cert. I'm looking to sell the car as soon as possible, and will need it "smogged". That's not a problem but... don't want to have to do it more than once. CA laws state that a smog cert is good for 90 days, what if it exceeds that, I'll have to "pay" again to smog it. Is there a way to file a smog extension of some type to be able to register/insure so I don't get pulled over for exp tags and no insurance while I test and tune? Any advice guys? Thanks!

yep, just go down and pay the registration, tell them the car is in the tranny shop and they will give you about a 60 day ext. After you do eventually smog it you have to go back down to where you got the extension to get the lil sticker and registration.

Hell yea thats what I did. I just told them my car was at the shop and I did not have a chance to get it done. So I got an extension. What happened was that it failed smog lol. I still need to get it fixed.
i was only able to get 1 3 month red sticker and 1 1 month sticker my 80 has been sitting for 2 years now and i cant get it to smog i didnt kotice that she wrote down on my paper that i recieved one now i can only get day slips
