I must have read through 20 threads like that, all most all of them in the Texas forum.

Next time you call out someone, make it a worthwhile venture greater than drinking a Pepsi, since both are about as fun and adventurous.

I live in Texas, not trying to "flex my internet muscles" or defend my state or any crap like that, just saw this post in the new posts and thoguht I would shed a little light on it.
As far as I know, I have never heard of or seen ANYONE get arrested in the bars anywhere for being drunk. The cops however are dicks enough to wait for you to come outside and leave the property then get you. As long as you are on that bar's property and not doing anything stupid, your legal and noone can touch you unless the bar owner has set something up with the authorities previously. Its not up to the state on private property, its up to the owners.

As for the strip club thing, I have no clue if that is actually about to happen or not but I have been to SEVERAL clubs since I got back and havent heard anything about it yet.

Again im just stating facts and what I have seen in my life...that and my experience as a Texas cop. And no, they do not run you for warrants or any crap like that before you get a drink. Most bars here check your ID at the bar for your birthdate only, then stamp your hands if your 21+ or put big assed X's or M's or something like that on your hands if you under 21. They wont ask to see your ID again the rest of the night unless your marks on your hand are not there. if they dont mark your hand they ask you ID once at the bar when you get a drink and then they remember your face afterwards, but only the smaller less busy bars do that. Just wanted to fill y'all in on that, not trying to argue or anything of the sort and I'm not trying to say my state is the best. Just FYI.

I don't believe you're trying to do anything wrong but are only trying clear up any confusion.

Maybe you haven't seen anyone get arrested or cited for being drunk in a bar, but apparently it happened to over 2,200 people before the program was suspended, even if you had a designated driver or were in the bar of the hotel you were staying at (meaning they had no intention of leaving):

I'm not bashing TX, every state has stupid laws.

Yeah, but....we have awesome gun laws!

Hell...my 5-year old sister walked into WalMart today and got a Dora the Explorer backpack, a pack of Pokemon cards, and a .357 Magnum!

Only in Texas.

Oh, and threads like this one are undoubtedly the reason Texans have such a bad rep here:
