just take the car it is in her name to so cops cant mess with you make the paments for a little wile then sell the car if you like. make him pay the differance. just my .02

You can sell a car w/o a title. At the time of the exchange (money/vehicle) you need to go to the dmv (or AAA it way easier and more understanding of th process) and fill out a vehicle vessel transfer form and they will tell you what to do from there.
