Default I need some advice

so as im finishing up putting my sbc together, i go to drop in the distributor and i grab the rotor to point to #1 cylinder and the thing just free spins, im like wtf i pull up the distributor only to find the gear and the two thrust washers not on the shaft, i instantly freak out, look down the whole in the back of the block and find the gear and washers, i grab by auto zone magnet and fish out everything i need, then fearing that the pin that holds the gear onto the shaft sheared and is just sitting on the back of the cam, i put my magnet back down the whole only to return with out a tip, my god damn mother ******* magnet broke at the worst possible time, so now i have a magnet head stuck face down in the block near the oil pump shaft.. i now another magnet wont be strong enought to pull it up, i know i cant get needle nose down that far, do i chew up some bubblicious put it on the tip of the magnet and rest it on the old magnet and let it dry for the next day or so??? im so out of idea, all i know is im not pulling the motor apart and wasting 100 or so dollars in gakets, might as well pull the block and make it a stroker at that point lol.

any thought ideas or suggestions? anyone else had this bull **** happen to them before,
i guess this is what i get for buying china made domestic parts from the swap meet.

Long reach needle nose pliers if you can see it? Or are you already using long needle nose? I have some that are very thin and about a foot long, might just work....
