Springfield Mil Spec.45s are pretty cheap; I picked mine up for around $400 and put $125 worth of Wilson Combat parts into it (new extractor, ejector, and trigger) and it never has one problem (before I upgraded those parts, it used to stove pipe quite often). As for Kimber, their customer service is horrible because of their state contracts with local police and state .gov agencies. Glocks are outstanding handguns as well. I used to hate them, until I shot one. Then I bought a Glock 23 .40 and it is now my carry gun.

Another 1911 cheap and reliable hand gun is Charles Daly (with of course, some upgraded parts).

I have a Glock model 21 .45 with an upgraded trigger pull 2.5 pounds. Never jammed! And it will drive tacks accurate!

Not a big fan of polymer pistols....but for a 1911 on a budget you should really look at STI.

I just bought a S&W MP .45. $450 OTD w/ four 10 round mags. It's a tack driver out of the box. For my first plastic pistol, I'm impressed with it.

Hmmmm, it appears to be ugly as sin and a $1,000 .22 is silly. For that money give me a AR pistol ($800) in 5.56.

A good JHP 9mm has better ballistics and energy transfer. JMO of course.

Did you buy this private party or dealer? If dealer, which one? Sounds like a great deal.

actually the 5.7x38 has more muzzle energy and better ballistics than the 9mm but it ugly as hell.... has a great feel when firing though.

If you ever want to try it out let me know.

Out of state dealer, I'll have to dig up the reciept, Pa. You're welcome to meet me a Prado to shoot. You're in Corona, correct?
