Default anyone have a code reader for a porsche?

my pop's porsche has been throwing up a code every now and then, does anyone have a reader so we can see what's up? Its an '01 911. thxxx

Yeah, I do, it reads "expensive".

Autozone will lend you odbii code readers, will that work?
