I'd venture a guess and say b/c in rental units, dogs smell up the place and leave reminders everywhere. (from a landlord's perspective)

^^And make noise (barking) that the landlord has to take complaints from other tenants over...

I'd recommend finding a dog park and looking for apartments in that area or just asking owners if they live in or know of a good place

Most apartments wont rent to tenants with any breed of terrier due to insurance companies not covering them or charging them high rates. I know because I have a pitt and can't get a place either
