knock sensor dose every car have it??im working on my mother in laws 97 nissan altima and according to the haynes book its located next to the oil filter,but of course its not......any help? THANKS!

thanks ! i was under the car and finally noticed the spot where its supposed to be there is only the whole were it goes and also the wiring for it is missing!! so im off to the junk yard......the dealer has it special order 60$ for the wire and 40$ for the screw, but i wont get it till wednesday bang:
