Default Front speakers off HU?

I am doing the Stereo system on my TA and I have a question.

Are the Front Speakers on my car running straight from the headunit? or does the wires from the headunit go to the Amps in the rear then back to the doors?

if they are still stock, they should be running from the amp to the doors.

Nobody knows about this issue? Come on guys.

Or at least of anyone has rewired their sound system, how do you run wires to the door speakers?

I replaced all of my stereo system, and I pulled new wires to all the speakers.
The stock wires are pretty small-gauge anyway.

So, basically, I left the stock wiring alone, and re-did it all. The stock wires to the doors also have a mid/high-pass filter in them (iirc), which wouldn't match my new speakers anyways.

It's a fairly quick job to pull wires to the doors. The only tricky thing is to get the new wires through the rubber grommet in the door hinges.

Well, I used a couple of zip-ties hooked up to each other to thread through the grommet, and use that to pull through the wires.
If I'd do it again, I'd use something slightly stiffer, but still bendable.

Doing it with the zip-ties took about 10min/side for just the grommet work.
Of course, this requires you to take off the door panels, but you're doing that anyways to install the speakers, right ?

Yeah I know im going to have to take off the door panels. Thats no issue at all. Zip ties huh? I think I get ur concept with that. But the only issue i have is I cant locate the opening on the inside of the car where the wires come out from. I just need to pay more Attention i guess.

Ah, it's there alright. I pushed my zip-ties in from the door-side, so I saw where it came out inside the car.

If I remember correctly because it's been years, I ended up replacing the factory speakers due to a third wire having to be run to the factory speakers from my new amp. I figured if wire was being run, the speakers were being upgraded. If you are routing wires through the door grommet, make a small loop on the end of a wire hangar and tie the wire to the loop to push through the door grommet and then just untie and pull what you need.
