Default 67 Camaro

I know a guy with a 67 Camaro he said he'd take $15k for. It's Torch Red with White stripes that was painted last year. The paint is flawless as it was repainted from black to red last year. The only thing that is wrong with the paint is that the door jambs were painted but not cleared. The car has a 305 with a TH-350. It has 2 hoods one is painted to match but it's a fiberglass liftoff hood. The other is steel but isn't painted yet. The interior is very clean he just has to put the rear panels in. I know it wasn't a factory a/c car. When it's completely finished would $15k be a good price or should I try to get him down a little more because it would have to get a heart transplant to an LS1/T56 combo? I have no clue as to what it's worth but I'm sure some of you guys do and no I'm not giving out his number and I'm telling you where the car is.

personally.. to much money for a plain jane camaro.. do some looking up on the trim tag on that camaro- and see what it really is.. who in their right mind would have put a 305 in it... hidden headlight car? rs/ss?? all of this matters..

No it's not a hidden headlight car. No SS or RS badges on it. I don't know too much about the 1st gens but the car is gorgeous. The fact it's a 305 is what's really holding me back. That and I still owe some on my car. He said he paid $6500 for it from a friend who had turned down $8500 for it. He's put a good bit of money in it with paint and the interior work and other odds and ends but I doubt he's put $15k in it.

I was thinking about offering him my ls1 Z28 and $2500 or so. Was gonna try to get about a $10k loan to pay mine off, cover the boot, and put an ls1 and t56 in it if I could possibly get that size loan.

I would check what came stock in the car, ie; disc brakes, if it is a deluxe package interior, obviously it is not rs since it does not have the hideaway lights. However since it does have a th350 I would see if this was a strait 6 cyl prior to that 305. Does it have the center console, is it a column shifter. The interiors condition is what would make that cars price go up. If it is not that great and its the standard edition, $10k would be too much in my opinion. Then again be ready to drop about another $10k to get that ls1/t56 in there. I know I have spent way too much on mine with all the other upgrades I put in there and it is still not finished.

It's a console mounted shifter. The interior is nice.Theirs not any stains or anything. The seats have just been recovered. I've been searching the classifieds a little and found a reasonably priced ls1 and t56. I know I'll need a 12 bolt as I wouldn't leave it stock. I could wait on the rear but I know would easily spend $10k even using used parts.
