I wouldn't do it.. You said yourself that you want an LS1, so wasting money on something you don't even want doesn't make any sense to me.. That car is a money pit.. I say run away from it.. If you're looking for some local cars that go fast and are for sale, there are usually a couple on kyhorsepower. I know there are some guys from louisville on there, they could help you out.

My advise at 22 yrs old you probably have zero credit history so down payment or not, you won't get financed, at least favorably (read high interest rate).
1. See if a parent or sibling with good credit will cosign for you.
2. Realize that a bank won't finance a car with a **** ton of miles and actually won't finance most 4th gens these days as they are too old. So with this in mind for optimum fiancing (good rate) look for a car around $9-12,000 with under 50k miles. With no down payment and around a 7% interest rate that's around $200 a month for 60 months. Every $1000 you put down will lower that by roughly $20 a month.

69camaross is creepily correct with the zero credit history. I have had an apartment in my name for almost a year, but I don't know how that will show.
1. Already have a cosigner that is willing to sign for me.
2. I know they will finance 80% of what it shows it's worth on NADA, as to what percentage, I dunno. I can handle up to a 250 a month car payment... but 200 would definitely be preferable. Looking to put around 2k down as a down payment.

For $2000 bucks, its not worth the price. From the looks of the pictures you posted on top, The engine seem spretty messed up, just getting dust, I bet its been sitting there for a while now, and from the looks of the body and interior, The body is gonna need alignment. Youll need interior being replaced etc. If I were you, Id go on craigslist and see what they have for sale. You might find something you like for under 6k, well taken care of, inside and out, and who knows, maybe a few mods in the motor.
