I just purchased my 2001 SS M6 w/ 54k miles...all in excellent condition...appears to be loaded with options but not the "go faster" SLP goodies. I paid $14k for it. I felt like I overpaid a bit, but even my mechanic was impressed with how good the condition of the SS was so I guess it was worth it.
IMHO, with 112k miles $11,900 is too much. I would keep looking or get the price down.

Sorry to be blunt but that price is insane! It is a 10+ year old car with over 100,000 miles. Even if you loved the color and wanted to pay a little extra for it, it should be in the $8,000 area, maybe $8,500 tops. Please check some sites like NADA or KBB for values so you don't get burned when looking at cars for sale. Do you know that www.kbb.com shows this car to be worth around $7,000 (private party) in 'good' condition?? Even if you think a professional pricing outfit like them is way off, are they off by more than $2,000?? Not likely. That $11,900 price is for real suckers, especially in the current buyer's market. It must be at a dealer, right? If the car was like the one bought by stingrayj, who posted above, that is a totally different story and price ( KBB says $10,000+ 'private party' and therefore a dealer would be in the $12,000+ neighborhood for his car). Appears accurate.

I think he'll get around 9k for it. I felt like I might have overpaid when I bought my '99 with similar miles for $8k, but it was a black on black M6 hardtop with chrome SS wheels...exactly what I wanted; so it was worth it to me.
It's a desirable color, but autos are much easier to come by. $11,900 is crazy, but it could fetch $8500-9000 pretty pretty easily if someone wants the color.

I just bought an immacualte 2002 fully optioned SLP SS with a 6spd, 41k miles, unmolested, and black for $12,500 a couple months ago so I think the price was high due to the mileage, however it seems like some guys believe the SOM color makes their cars worth thousands more for some reason...

Now you can actually go see the car with $8,000 in hand and make yourself a deal if the car is really nice and you are still interested. He obviously wasn't getting any calls since he lowered the price so quickly. He learned quick, so give that to him.

There were only 170 of those made. Since I put mine up for sale I've been offered $10k+ several times in the last month. My car has <75k miles though. I got the $12k offer I've been waiting for, and a nonrefundable down payment has been made. The interested buyer is driving down next week.
