Default whats reasonable?

I found a 03 Corvette C5 50th anniversary. Its red on black. Automatic its got a blackwing intake and Corsa exhaust on it with 52k miles. They asked me 23,9. Do you think this is a fair price. Thats what they have been advertising it as well so I think they can do a little better what do you guys think? Thanks

Not when you can get cars like this for 26k, and that's asking price.

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...all-stock.html

It's a buyers market, getting real hard not to say **** saving for a house, and going to pick up one of the many C6 z06's listed under $40k and less than 35k miles.

Its not that I have to have an auto its just every other car I have is a manual. Cobalt, Z28, T/A, truck, mustang. I don't have anything thats automatic and I think it would be nice to have but if i could find a 6 speed I wouldn't be against it. I just haven't found one locally. I thought about getting a new 5.0 but decided against it then I found this vette which I would rather have plus its cheaper but I don't want to get took to the cleaners on it either. I'll be trading in my cobalt ss. I owe 16k on it and they are offering me 16,9. I am a teenager and I told them straight out it won't be in my name but I pay for it that getting it financed won't be a problem and they wouldn't tell me anything other than the 23,9. I think if I get them the credit appts in they'll sing another song about the price but I wondered how much they could drop off and it be fair.

If I needed to have an "automatic" I wouldn't want that to be in a Vette-Mustang maybe, but a Vette would only be a manual, IMO...

I agree 100%, vette would be the absolute last car I would buy with an auto. Would take all the fun out of it for me.

For all you posters putting down automatics, it is an individual choice and no one is interested in your own likes and dislikes. He stated his reasons and wants opinions. Respect his wants.
Vandyke TA, I believe the dealer is giving you a real break on your trade-in and that is the reason for the adamant $23,900. For a cash deal, this would be too high of a price. I also believe you are quite correct about having your 'affairs in order' and being at the dealership ready to buy. They should come down a little bit more even with offering you the $16,900 for the trade-in. These are good times for 'buyers' in these upside-down economic times. If they don't budge on price, leave. They will call you within 48 hours. Play your cards right and stand your ground. All the pressure is on them to sell, not you to buy. Best of luck to you!

You can pick up a C6 vette with half the mileage for another $5k. The car has likely been taken care of, but with 52k, it's been driven and not babied. They probably are thinking that you're young and you'll do anything to get into the car. I would say $20k at the most, just because it's retail and they have to provide financing. $17k-$18k if it was a private seller. Make them work for your money.
