2001 Camaro Z28 Yeah, I found another one that I'm thinking about looking at... It's got all of the options I'm looking for and what seems like a decent price. Currently $10,500 -including tax, title, license.
2001 Z28 - Auto - Maroon metallic - 35,000 miles
T-tops, ASR, fog lights, multi-CD, leather, power windows, locks, seat
The seller has been very open with sharing photos of areas on request. The exterior and interior look nice (photos under the seat covers were provided as well and they look good), but I asked for some photos under the hood and it looks pretty dirty for the miles. The discoloration on the edge of the heads is what has me a little hesitant, because I've never seen something like that on low-mile cars and I'm not even sure what it's from. I was also told there's a leak in the rear end, but I understand it's a common problem with the 10-bolt and was told it would be fixed before selling. But other than that, I've been told it's in great shape.
So, what do you think? Would this car be worth a 9 hour drive to go check out?

I certainly think so. Love those low miles. I'm sure you have run a Carfax to verify miles, accidents, etc... right?? The comfort level you feel with the owner is key here. If you feel that every question has been answered to your liking, then go for it. As far as the dirty engine area I agree that it is a concern but many owners never think of cleaning it. I just hope all the fluids have been changed though. Every one should be changed by now just due to age, from Dexcool to the brake fluid to the power steering fluid. If not, then use that as a negotiation tool. It will run hundreds of dollars at a dealership. That rear end leak is probably just a pinion seal. Mine went with low mileage too. Cost was $200 and that included the new rear end fluid. No big deal.
