looking at a camaro So I have lately had a desire to go fast and been looking at some ls1 cars. I'm just curious about some of the prices are acceptable. I found a 1998 camaro z28 auto, with 113k on it the person wants 4k. I haven't looked at it personally but is that a decent buy if everything is in order? What typically goes wrong that I should looked for.

Any car with 6 figures on the odometer is going to have problems 9 out of 10 times and this car will be no exception at that price. If really interested in a car such as this, get it for as little as possible to allow for a few grand in repairs over the first year or two. If you pay $4,000, and have $6,000 into it after 2 years, that isn't too bad and you could still get something for it if it is kept in half decent shape. That's why getting it for as low a price as possible makes sense in the long run. Offer less (in person and with hundred dollar bills in hand) and see how well you can do if you really like the car. Just be careful if the car is in obvious need of major repairs. You don't want too much $$ into a car like this unless you know you will keep it for many, many years. You want the ownership experience to be positive, not a negative pain in the a$$. That is difficult to predict. Good luck!!
