Ebony is like a dark gray or what some would consider black. Haven't you seen the car?? I'm asking because you should know if the car is stock or if modified in any fashion. When you say 'pretty sure' it is a little scary to me when laying out the big $$.
A one owner 'stock' lower mileage (50,000) non-abused 2002 SS is always a nice find. If in very good to excellent condition a 'private party' price should be around $13,000 + taxes, tag at your local DMV. If the SS is at a retail lot then of course the price will be higher in most cases. If you did buy this car from a dealer, then that $14,638 out the door is certainly a price to be expected and definitely OK to pay, especially if the tires are still decent and no repairs are necessary. Hopefully all the fluids have been changed by now. If not, that will be your first expense. Dexcool, brake fluid, power steering fluid, etc...
Best of luck to you and I hope the ownership experience will be a real good one!
