Should I trade or not trade?

Should I trade or not trade? Ok heres the situation. A guy I know offered me a 98 T/A. M6 car with a spun bearing. Transmission is good body is fair, needs paint and a bumper cover put on but comes with the car, interior in pretty good condition, cheap 16" ugly knock off wheels, comes with a primered aftermarket ws6 hood in fair condition, the latch mount has been modified. Its got a aftermarket shifter and torque arm other than that the car is stock. The trade he wants to pull is my original perfect condition WS6 hood and 1k for the car with all of his parts. What do you think? He also said he'd take 1500 for the car or my hood and 1k.

He definitely won't come down on the car. I even offered 800 and my hood. I really don't need another car but I think the car is well worth what hes asking. Like you said the transmission set up is worth what hes asking for it.

I talked to him a few minutes ago. He said he'd take 850 with the hood. He also said if I just bought it straight out he can't let the bumper and other ws6 hood go with the car. What it comes down to is he wants my hood. No pics but I'll try to get some tomorrow.
