That certainly is a clean Z. Nice job. Your asking price is actually right in line with book value but there are some issues. Trying to sell a car like that at this time of year is not going to be in your favor but the bigger issue here is that it has been modified, which reduces your market appeal to all but a specific and limited demographic, i.e., younger males. As far as what you might be able to get out of it, there has been a 6 speed Z28 with similar mods and similar miles for sale near me all year with an asking price of $10,000, which the seller lowered to $7000 about a month ago. Good luck.

Certainly agree about the mods hurting this attempted sale. A 'stock' example would have been long gone by now at that very fair asking price and in that very clean condition. Just too many buyers avoid modded cars and I don't blame them one bit. I think 'abuse' every time I read an ad like that whether real or imagined. It isn't right but that's reality. Maybe we should start a logo like 'speed kills'. Something like "mods kill prices". Anything to help sellers realize why modded cars don't bring decent money 9 out of 10 times.
After so many years posting on here it is the same situation over and over again. It's a shame as I understand the desire to modify cars. It just costs so much money and then you get absolutely nothing in return anymore. So

so would you advise advertising it without really mentioning modification and then explaining the mods in person and the driving and maintenance habits?

It probably wouldn't help because most buyers will ask if its stock before they see it in person if they want a stock car (and most people do). Plus it makes it look like you have something to hide about the car. I sympathize with your situation. There are buyers out there who appreciate a tastefully modded car and will buy one but they are tough to find. Regardless of this I think you could get around $8500 for it maybe more if you find the right buyers. GLWS!

Yeah, you have to be honest.
Keep lowering the price in $500 increments until you hit that sweet spot when the phone starts ringing with serious offers. I realize that the price is low already but if you want to sell the car you have to appeal to the person that would like to own it.
I've been giving this tidbit for the past 5 years here but think about it. This type person, or buyer, is a younger male in most instances that has very little cash. Forget about loans. As much as he desires your clean ride, he doesn't have $10k. That's why the 'stock' type car sells much more frequently and for better prices, because you have added all buyers to the mix, from women to older males just looking for decent 'sporty' transportation. They are more likely to have the funds. The buyer's market is very thin for modded F-body cars no matter what you do. Patience will be required. The closer we get to the holidays the tougher it gets. It's a normal cycle of the car selling calendar. Lower your asking price now before October or November rolls around.
