Hello everyone,

I've been a motorcycle guy my whole life and just recently got into the auto/LSx scene. I'm trying my best to do my homework and catch up and find a great deal for an LS-swapped older body style pickup. I come to you guys, much wiser and knowledgable than I, for some buying advice.

So with this truck, as I can tell so far:
PROS:
+LS1 swap already done, and looks pretty clean from first glance
+Newer crank, newer cam
+Could potentially be daily driver-worthy
+Good amount of truck for such a low price

CONS:
-C20 style = 3/4 ton truck; heavier; LWB (C10 had SWB)
-Does the low price mean too good to be true?

and more importantly,

-Why do a carb conversion on an LS1???

I hope someone with a little more wisdom with me can chime in here. Thank you very much in advance for any help.

-BL

PS - The seller sent me a :17 video of the truck running, if anyone is interested.

That truck does not have an LS1; it has an old school Chevy small block.
