Pretty scarce car. Supposedly 70 total made in 2001 (54 of those are M6, 26 are black M6's). The auto's are rarer at 16 made. A pretty elite club. Rarer still with a hardtop. Being 90K miles will negate some of the scarcity. If it were just a standard WS6 M6 I'd probably say $8K-$10K. But how much does the FH formula add? I guess that depends on the buyer. I'd say anywhere from +$1K to +$3K. But those are just guesses. In fall of 2011 a dealer local to me had a 22K mile - 2000 FH formula M6 in pewter - one of 4 built in that color as I recall. Asking $12K. Was on Ebay 3X and couldn't sell in the $12.5-$13K range. I kick myself for letting that get away....despite how much everyone seems to dislike pewter.

It wasn't. But since I was still green at the time I didn't go look at it....primarily because it was on Ebay 3X in 2 months and failed to sell each time with reserves in the $12K to $13K range (you "had" to figure something was wrong with it). The car was for sale in fall/winter of 2011 by Harte Nissan in East Hartford, CT. I think the hardtop, formula, and pewter turned off a lot of buyers. The car got no love on Ebay. In winter of 2011/2012 these cars were literally going begging. The 2009-2011 recession was still lingering and money was tight. Nice, medium priced F bodies were never cheaper. At that same time I saw a couple of other Firehawk formula's with low miles hit Ebay and have trouble getting bids over $13K. Now, you rarely low mileage ones for sale at all.

Let's face it, to most buyers a Firehawk is not as cool looking as a WS6. And a hardtop in pewter is not as cool as TTop in black, nbm, etc. This kind of car is a little better understood 3 years later. Had the car been an automatic I would have bought it assuming it didn't have some hidden flaw. But, at that time I really wasn't considering 6 speeds. Funny thing is, another M6 popped up a few months later and I bought it. I still kick myself for not at least looking at the 2000 FH. I've never seen one since with that low of mileage priced any cheaper. And even if that car didn't have the sizzle of a SOM WS6....it was still only 1 of a couple Pewter or Silver M6 formulas built (only 17 FH formula hardtop M6's in ALL colors in 2000). Too much time has passed....it could have been silver. Firehawks are still generally under-appreciated. But in the next 10 years or so I'd bet they start getting their due. A high % of both FH's and WS6's got saved. So for most enthusiasts there will always be an ample supply of these cars. You can't say that about near-mint original 1969 Roadrunner's with 20K-45K miles.
