Hey guys
I jus sold my 2002 Z06 Corvette a little over a month ago. Been itching to buy another toy. Open to a lot of things, but ran across this.
Thought I would throw this one out here for your opinions on what its worth. I ran across a 2002 Camaro SS, 11,750 miles, 6 spd, Hurst shifter, T-top with covers, Pewter, Black leather interior, Monsoon stereo with 6 disc changer, traction control, 2 key FOBs, rear window defrost, and all of the normal power accessories, windows, locks, tilt, cruise, original silver 10 spoke 17" wheels come with the car. Current owner bought some replica C6 ZR1 spider chrome wheels in 18 x9.5" sizes with new Nitto tires to match with only a couple of hundred miles on them. Only other non stock item is he installed the SLP loudmouth 2 catback ( the one with the resonator in the I-pipe ) so its not too obnoxious.
Car is in impeccable condition, absolutely no dents, dings, scratches or rock chips at all. Paint is excellent and the interior looks absolutely as close to new as possible. Original owner was an engineer and was fanatical about the car and kept it in a climate controlled garage. Current owner has had the car for the last two years and keeps it garaged as well, although not climate controlled. He bought the car 2 years ago with 11,200 miles and has only added another 550 miles. Car has not been abused at all and everything works as it should. Engine runs great and tranny shifts nice and tight. Only flaw is a slight crackle in the stereo every once in a while, not a huge deal to me.
Soooo, whats it worth guys? Car is located in Southeast Texas and was bought new in San Antonio, Tx. Car stickered for just over $31,000.00
Thanks for your input

There have been enough of these the past year that $15,500-$16,500 is a pretty typical range assuming it's not loaded with most of the SLP options (ie Bilstein, Perf exhaust/CME, grille, etc.). A lower mileage white 2001 M6 just sold on Ebay for $16,100. It had been up multiple times. Pewter is a problem with a lot of buyers. Tougher on the resell. But, I've also run into people that love the color, even if in the minority.
Summer season is winding down. If the car is still there by September it should be a little cheaper....and cheaper every month it remains unsold....though Texas doesn't have the "winter" season us northerners see. Should be able to get some nice extra $$ for those ZR1 wheels....unless you like them. As long as the car was overall all there I wouldn't care what color it was....but I'm in the minority as well. I have the same crackle in my passenger door speaker...just started this past 2 weeks. Another item to replace.
Why did you sell the 2002 Z06? High miles?

Thanks for the reply. I agree that the Pewter color is not the most popular color choice out there and as you said its kind of a love it or hate it color. Its just not real flashy or eye catching, but when a car is this nice, to me it does not matter as much because you are just impressed with the overall condition.
You are correct on the Texas winters ( if you can all them winter ) as there is virtually no down time for driving. I guess we have an advantage if you are a car enthusiast since we don't have the harsh winter weather. Maybe the seasonal price changes are not as noticeable down here due to those facts as well
I sold the Z06 because I had it for just over 7 years and I guess I was just ready for something different and I had the opportunity to move it and recoup a big majority of what I paid for it . The car had 69K miles on it which is not high miles, But... for the Corvette world its getting up there
I had a lot of fun with the Z06 over the years.
I am open to a lot of different cars, looking at maybe an older muscle car. Would like to find a nice 67-72 Camaro, 67-70 Chevelle, 90-93 454 SS truck, or even a nice old Mopar B or E body car. I have a killer 454 H.O. crate engine and a nice 4 spd setup to put in a GM musclecar. I have located a really clean 93 454 SS truck up in Iowa, but that's a pretty good round trip to buy a vehicle.
Then, I run across this freaking clean a$$ Camaro SS and its so tempting
I might just have to pull the trigger. Its just kinda hard to go backwards from the Z06, but this is basically a brand new car. I also currently have the 98 SS in my sig with a new LSX 427 engine & 4L85E with 12 bolt rear. Its 650 hp on motor with a 150-200 shot available if needed hehe!
Maybe I could buy the 02 SS and get the 93 454 SS and put the 454 H.O. crate engine in it. Then I would have two cars for the price of the Z06?? Now that sounds pretty cool! Man, cars are an addiction.
