2000 WS6 Convertible TA
The Transmission was rebuilt at about 100k. I have the receipt for it.
The black interior is clean. No rips or holes in the seats. Top has no holes or leaks. The rear glass section was replaced about 5 years ago.
Regular maintenance always done. In the last 5 years I have replaced the alternator, power steering pump and lines, water pump, ac compressor. Battery is new. Tires are new on the front, 5k miles on the rear set. They are Firestone Wide Oval Indy 500's. The hood was repainted 3 years ago. No accidents. Pictures below.
What's it worth? I live in NJ. I don't want to give it away but I don't want to ask too much and not get any offers. Is ebay a good option for listing the car? I think it would get good exposure there but I really don't like ebay.
KBB seems reasonable with a range of $7300-$8700 private party (good to excellent condition). I would think anything from $6.5K to $8K would be fine if you want to let it go now. It's good that you have a fresh trans and tires. But other stuff will/could start going too (exhaust, suspension, electrical, computers, dash, AC, power windows, power seats, brakes, etc.). Seems you've taken good care of her and should get a premium price for those 122K miles....maybe similar to what a more beat on 90K-100K mile car might get.
Ebay with a minimal reserve ($6K starting) should indicate you are a serious seller. Ebay is a good place to sell though there's no way to stop a dead beat bidder who can ruin your auction. You check completed "sold" listings to see how other high mileage WS6's have done the past few months. I think $8K is a good value to place on it. If you know it's a top car for the miles, then start at $8500-$8750...just make sure your photos and verbage justify how much of a cream puff it is. I'd much rather spend $8K for a pampered 122K miles than a beat on one for $6K. Current condition, appearance, and operating characteristics are more important than a "KBB number." I'd have to think that even most "very good" 122K mile verts are pretty rough looking. No cracked door panels at 122K miles? Seats not ripped up by now is a pretty good sign the drivers were careful.
You can run it for free on Craigslist with 24 photos, on the northeast Bargain News for free (6 photos?), and Autotrader for $25 (3 photos or another $10 for a dozen). Pick a price and get it on up there. Check autotrader to see what other higher mileage '98-'00 verts are going for. You can check the '01-'02's as well but subtract $1K for an '01 and $2K for the '02 as though do bring considerably more.

I don't like ebay either FLSTS. My last sale there last Fall was very positive though. I liked using the Buy It Now format with OBO (or best offer). That eliminated the kiddies from bidding and screwing with the auction. I think $8,000 is a tad high for the mileage, and if I was a buyer I'd rather make an offer if the car was priced at $7,500 or OBO. That should perk some interest, especially a one owner 'vert that still has the boot cover.
NCO1TA is probably right on the pricing. I haven't sold a car in 6 years but have been trying to sell a 2003 small truck for my neighbor for the past 2 weeks. It's a 1 owner, 38K mile on original tires....but with lots of body dents/dings and a nasty interior. The 38K miles is a big draw, the cosmetics turns nearly all of them away. In essence, most want to pay as if the vehicle was 150K-250K miles. Tough market out there.
